Re: Need help - Trying to recreate Van Halen's "JUMP" tone
Oh, and don't get started without first initializing the patch (Utility once you're in the edit page). Most of the parameters (Filter, AMP) require very minimal editing from the initial point.

Re: Need help - Trying to recreate Van Halen's "JUMP" tone
I'm going to augment Raymond's post to be more specific to the JP80. OSC - For Osc 1 and 2, use Saw variation C (green). Set pitch to both Osc 1 and 2 at -12. Set detune on Osc 2 to +10. Filter - Use LPF3 for both Osc 1 and 2. AMP - I prefer to set Osc 1 Pan L30 and Osc 2 Pan R30. Just sounds a bit ...

Re: no
With all of that said, though, I must say I cannot figure out from Roland's marketting what is the current "superNatural" flagship, and if JP80 is a forgotten in-between child or still their latest and greatest. Your question is perfectly legit, and timely. You are correct in that Roland ...

Registration Buttons
Is there a way to permanently disable the registration buttons below the keys? I forget to disable them when I power it on, and inevitably bump my leg against one mid performance. It's killing me!

Re: Has an era ended at Roland?
Allow me be a bit more specific, because I think it deserves consideration. I'm not referring to what's under the hood. I agree that Roland still makes keyboards the "sound" good. But to that end so do countless plug-in developers. My Korg kronos sounds awesome... in SOME ways I think bett...

Re: Integra 8 coming soon?
I recall a brief conversation I had at NAMM 2014 with a relatively well known (youtube) Roland rep. I mentioned the apparent lack of build quality of the new FA series he was giving a demo on. I asked him when Roland was planning to release a true "flagship" board akin to a next gen G8. He...

Has an era ended at Roland?
I know this subject has been beat to death in the past, but it's been a little while, and I'm curious of people's thoughts, especially since NAMM is now nearly two months in the past. The concern is that existing gear we own, as great as it is, wears out, and eventually needs to be replaced. In that...

JP80 Organ vs Other Roland Organs
Does anyone know what the JP80 organ model is based on? Is it the same organ model used in the VR-700???

OSC Wave Variations
I've searched and can't find this subject. Has anyone ever uncovered any specific representation of the wave variations on the SN-Synth? What I mean is, the LPFs are modeled after classic synths, and while Roland has never published the exact details of LPF3 and LPF4, it's understood from folks at R...

Re: New Korg Kronos!!!!
here's hoping it lives up to the quality of the JP-80! I wouldn't say it's the same "build" quality of the JP80. I mean, let's face it, the JP80 is built like no other board available today. It truly is solid. However, compared to previous generations, the new Kronos is much more sturdy a...

Re: Prophet 12 + Jupiter-80 is a great combo (mini review)
the Prophet 6 has less overlap with the Jupiter-80. Well said. I owned a Prophet 12 for about two weeks and sent it back. I felt that for $3k it didn't give me enough above what I could already do, and the uniqueness wasn't unique enough... at least for what I like to do (YMMV). Between the JP80 an...

Re: New Korg Kronos!!!!
The new Kronos is very nice. Played on the 6 and 8 at NAMM. Much better build quality then the previous generations (I have a Kronos X 61). I think the new Kronos is a home run. Today I put my X 61 above my Jupiter 80, but I can easily see placing the Jupiter 80 above a Kronos 8. That might be the t...

Re: Sequential Prophet 6
I played with the prophet 6 for a brief spell at NAMM and it was indeed very nice. Happy to see VCOs coming back, but I wish there was a bit more polyphony and an extra octave of keys. On that note, In the Jupiter 80 V2, isn't one of the LFPs (Maybe LPF3???) supposed to be based on the Prophet 5? I ...

Re: Winter namm 2015
Played on the JD-Xi and the prophet 6 today. While the JD-Xi is a pretty cool little synth with a cool sound and layout, for me the Prophet 6 was a nice surprise. The layout of that prophet is very traditional and easy to navigate. I was impressed, albeit just 49 keys. The JD-XA looks like the Aira ...
