Hi Wayne,
The easiest way would be to do a full User Backup to a CF card and then just Restore that to the new Fantom.
Obviously, you need a card big enough to store your samples, if you have any,
See Owner's Manual p.235.
Glad to hear you're still out there and gigging your X8.

Re: FREE : put a DX7 in your Fantom X!
With regards to the different models (X6, X7, X8), the only difference I'm aware of is the weighted keyboard of the X8. None of the promotional info I've seen ever suggested any other differences between the models. In the system settings (service tech settings, not the ones on the Fantom menu butto...

Fantastic! Glad you've got it working, Rob.
Please could one of you share the link again or attach the zip file? Everytime I download it my laptop says it's either corrupt or empty!
*EDIT* I've managed to download a copy that opens. I'll try it out in the next few days.

Re: FAN-X-UP1 Kit
If I remember correctly, the CF card upgraded the OS to v2.0 then Roland offered the v2.10 update for free. The last version of the OS that you can upgrade to on a v1 Fantom-X is v1.07, available from the same page linked to above. The issue was that the data couldn't be copied to any old CF card. S...

I've made this thread a "sticky", so it will stay at the top of the first page of the Fantom-s and Fantom-X forum.
Many thanks battlecate for having the will to hunt down and gather all this information into one place.

Re: Removing rhythm style for some measures
Hi, at worst, can you delete the notes from those measures, or set the volumes to zero?
It's not something I've ever had to do on the Fantom, I'm afraid.

Re: bad customer support
Same here. Their blanket denial of the Fantom XR display issue was one of several reasons why I won't buy Roland anymore.
My last big purchase was Korg, and the support from them has been superb.

Hi, if a factory reset hasn't worked, have you moved the "computer" switch on the back of the module, by accident?

Re: Fantom X8 - XV 5080
Ayup, sorry for the slow reply, I've been rehearsing and gigging. Woo, live music again! Say I download a bank of WAV files [...] How can I use them with the Fantom X8? You can save them on a card, then you have to Import Audio into the Fantom. Then, you can make a multisample of how you want the sa...

Re: HELP!! Juno-D out of tune!
Hi Jen,
Try powering down, wiggle the pitch bender and make sure it's re-centered itself, then power up.
If that doesn't work it might need a system reset, but it's likely the bender wasn't centered properly when it last booted up.
Cheers, Andy

Re: fans.svd and the Fantomasv2010 collection
I think I got that slightly wrong! There are SVD files in the Fantom that are sound data (patches, performances etc) and SVS files that contain all the system settings. As for new sounds online, there don't seem to be that many, that I'm aware of. There have been a few shared here over the years, bu...

Re: Fantom X8 - XV 5080
I'm so new this this whole synth / workstation thing that I have no idea what all that means! :) That is okay though I will keep at it. Ha, no worries, and welcome to a lifetime of confusion, MIDI headaches, and awesome sound! The Fantom itself can store 256 User Patches and 64 User Performances. A...

Re: Fantom X8 - XV 5080
True, but you can save an unlimited amount of Songs on a CF card, only limited by space. I set up a Performance and then save it as a Song (even though I don't use the sequencer). Recalling each song pulls up the Performance as I saved it. I currently have 267 Songs on my CF card so that's 267 Perf...
