Roland has to compete in making Workstations, or they will have to exit the game and start making keyboards and synths as a 3rd party sound company. You have erroneous knowledge, Yamaha has been selling Motif XF like hotcakes and made a 17% increase in synth sales in 2013 according to their financial reports.

Roland is the only company that's going backwards in synth workstation technology and workstation sales.
