Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

Roland has to compete in making Workstations, or they will have to exit the game and start making keyboards and synths as a 3rd party sound company. I don't think Roland will let themselves degenerate to a musically irrelevant synth company, rather then at least copy the synth companies workstation ...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

The Motif es sold like hot cakes! Yes Yamaha sold more workstation than Roland and korg have to. Yes Yamaha have a 17% sales increase but not because of the XF. Are u saying motif XF has a 17% sale increase over the motif ES ? The motif XS don't out sale the ES! 10 yrs. ago many want a workstation ...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

You have erroneous knowledge, Yamaha has been selling Motif XF like hotcakes and made a 17% increase in synth sales in 2013 according to their financial reports.

Roland is the only company that's going backwards in synth workstation technology and workstation sales.

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

Folks are always excited about new synth technology in the latest greatest keyboard more than integrating their old synth with a computer. Roland would nearly go out of business if they stopped making workstations. Because they can only sell the V-Piano, Accordian, FX Pedal, Toy Loopers, and Drum Ch...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

Ah! You're absolutely right. It's about a keyboard who has tons of great sounds and their worth is near garbage. Now it all makes sense. Thanks for clearing it out. No man, I said their AD/DA converters on Fantom X keyboards and the musical instruments of that time and before were worth and still i...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

I have no idea what you're babbling about "total garbage", Fantom X is still used by many professionals. If you would have read my post instead of babbling off, you would read what I've said, which is this....... "Roland Fantom X has tons of great sounds but, all the sounds were thin...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

If Roland would announce a teaser they would do it within 2 weeks of the NAMM show, it would be too much to take to see a teaser 2 months away. I don't want to see a Teaser until about 1 week before NAMM. That long over anxious gear lust hurts me personally all the days I can't see what being partia...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

The reason I think Roland took so long is because it takes time for them to debut the massive amount of products they usually debut when they come with the slew amount of products. I think they will debut a workstation, some kind of beat box or drum sampler, Piano Keyboard, sound module, sound cards...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

Roland won't step on their other products foot trying to includes them in their next workstation. If you take a look at the past you will see how Roland (and other manufacturers) DO recycle products and use elements from other instruments to incorporate them into a new package. In the case of Rolan...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

Roland won't step on their other products foot trying to includes them in their next workstation. There will be no V-Synth, V-Piano, Jp-8000, no Integra, MV8000, or any previous synth or module included in their next workstation, everything will be considered new technology with references to their ...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

Roland's hope is Flash or SSD, for the users 'personal sounds' instantly playable. Without this they can't compete with Korg and Yamaha. Really the future of Roland's success is the same as the future of Korg and Yamaha success. People want to play 3rd party mutli gigabyte sound libraries from other...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

Motif was never a killer board. It only had killer sales - meaning it had better marketing strategy, nothing to do with keyboard design. Not true. Motif XF is killer I own one and play it. All the sound are big and beefy, thick and wide, FX are the best quality in a keyboard business. Roland Fantom...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

I can say one thing though, because the Motif will be killer, Roland has to blow us out the water Namm 2014 or they will have to quit the synthesizer business from lack of sales. Because they are a long way off from catching to the technology of the Kronos. Whatever Roland is making have already bee...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

What I mean by full fledge modelling is using no wav samples in the creation of the acoustic sound. The JP 80 is partial modelling attack of the wav file ROMpler sound as it's sound creation technology. That's how the JP 80 produces it's sounds. When total full fledge modelling comes along, there wi...

Re: New Roland Synthesizer Workstation Coming at Namm 2014

Hardware synths aren't meant to compete with the VST in which most people are starting to believe. Hardware synth can take over the VST market if they rally wanted it to, everybody knows we would love to have a hardware synths with a 30 GB sound library in Flash Rom, versus a usb keyboard triggering...
