expansion board question

Post by mkeschinger »

I saw a thread that showed an expansion board not sounding so good on the G.
I'm thinking of getting the Ultimate keys expansion.
Anyone have it? Reviews on the it with the G? I know there's a youtube video, couple actually. Hard to get a clear sound with the tapping of the keys.
Look forward to hearing what everyone thinks.

I just watched those videos and I agree, hard to hear with the bad audio quality but that said, I was impressed with the sound of the patches. I'm still on the fence about spending the $250 for it... we'll have to see. All in all, I think they are pretty good sounding patches. For that amount of money, Roland should offer better demo tracks to listen to.

Ignore the spam. Hope the mods will delete soon.

Anyway, back to your question: I have SRX-07 and it sounds great on my Juno-G. Admittedly, Juno G has lots of great built in waves already, however when you want something additional to spice it up, I would recommend it. I do not have anything else to compare but to my ears, there is nothing wrong with SRX 07+Juno G combo.

If you want to hear the kind of sounds SRX-07 contains, ignore all the official Roland demos and head straight to this guy's page: http://www.synthmania.com/srx-07.htm

Much better than anything else I heard.

Hope this helps.
