Arpeggio + recording trouble!

I've created an arpeggio that I really like, but every time I try and record what I am playing something happens and it records a choppy version of it. Is there a timing feature that keeps the arpeggio settings from working properly when recording?

Mind you I am in the process of getting a new computer set up for recording/arranging, so I am only recording this within my 'G as a sort of "quick 16"

Also just to be clear- I don't want to use the "hold" feature, because I was playing it (I guess staccato) and restarting the sequence a couple times and only using the first half of it. I hope this is making sense.. ha!

arp sync in the system menu has to be turnt to on.

the juno g can arrange music.maybe you mean a more user friendly screen.
