Sonar + Juno-G Patch Problems

Post by tim_carrigg »

Hey guys, I'm a noob at all this electronic stuff... had my juno-g (my first DAW) for a while now, and just learning how to hook it up to sonar. The problem i've been running into however, is that whenever I play one of the tutorial tracks, the intended patches to be played (I set the MIDI output to Juno-G) are instead the patches used for the Grand Orch. performance mode on the Juno-G. The opposite is the same too -- if I have a song made entirely on the Juno-G, and save it; then open it on sonar, and set the MIDI output to my external speakers: everything plays in a piano sound, even drums! Anybody know what I am doing wrong??? Hope I made sense.

Hi,

I would suggest that you grab a copy of the Juno G Micro Manual written by Artemiy, but the link in the sticky post is dead :-(

Instead I would suggest that you grab a copy of the workstation manual hosted over at roland, specifically this one:

http://cms.rolandus.com/assets/media/pdf/JGWS02.pdf

The workstation manual shows you how to use the Juno with a computer, and it has a section that deals with using the Juno with a DAW as a sound module, which sounds like what you are trying to do.

[edit]
here's the link to the micromanual

good luck

Thanks for the help huggles! Good stuff and it was definitely informative--read both of them first page to the last.

Fortunately I found my answer on another thread I came across randomly.
