Card sample patches question

Hi There,

First of all best wishes for the new year :)
Now my question:

Can the Juno G save samples as patches on the SD card?
I have been trying to load samples from my card into the Juno G and then saving them to patches on the card
as you can do with non sample patches for example you edit a preset patch , save it to card and when you turn the synth back on the saved patch is still there on the card and can be instantly played but the sample patches are empty.(also the names come up as empty patch so it seems not a question of loading the sample in the Juno G userRam)
It does seem to write without errors.
Or am I trying the impossible?

I am following this process:
Load samples via load command in audio menu to the Juno G RAM
write samples to patches on the card via write menu.

Apologies for the long story but I hope it explains what I am trying to do..
