Juno-G time signature/Metronome click

I have tried changing the time signature from the default 4/4 to 3/4 but the metronome still clicks to 4/4 beat. When I change the time signature to 6/8 the metronome clicks to 6/8 beat. I do not know why it does not work for 3/4 . Has anyone tried it.

Would appreciate if anyone can confirm if metronome click has to follow the time signature beat. Or am I doing something wrong.
