Hello all!
Just wanted to suggest everyone read the book "I believe in music" by Ikutaro Kakehashi, the founder of Roland.
It's a really wonderful book, there are many interesting things to find out about the history of Roland Corporation and it's classic instruments.
Here is a link to this book at Amazon, but I am sure you can find it at other places too:

I absolutely second that.
I just had the chance to read it recently when a friend lent it to me. I'm looking forward to buy it now.
Mr. K. sure has a lot to teach.
There are also some surprising stories like the deep connection with Hammond and the fact that the first Technics organ was built by...HIM.
A must read.

Just ordered this book today. May not get it for a week or so, but the more I think about it the more I really look forward to reading it. Roland has been my favorite company since I was in middle school, or junior high, flipping through Keyboard Magazine wishing I could afford a D-50.
Re: Recommended reading: "I believe in music"
Has anyone finished their copy of "I believe in music" and would like to sell it to me?
I hope it's well-read and worn out!

I believe in music
I could just sit around, making music all day long.
As long as I'm making my music ain't gonna do nobody no harm.
And who knows, maybe I'll come up with a song
To make people want to stop all this fussing and fighting
Long enough to sing along.
CHORUS:
I believe in music
I believe in love
I believe in music
I believe in love.
Music is love and love is music if you know what I mean
People who believe in music are the happiest people I've ever seen
So clap your hands and stomp your feet and shake those tambourines
Lift your voices to the sky; tell me what you see.
(CHORUS)
Music is the universal language, and love is the key
To peace hope and understanding, and living in harmony
So take your brother by the hand and come along with me
Lift your voices to the sky, tell me what you see.
(CHORUS)
I just love that song! . . . Bernice? . . . Where is my tambourine? (and the green tea.)
