Censorship

Post by fismoll7 »

If you lock all threads with complaints about the fantom G, then always the positive threads will appear on the first page of the forum.
This is censorship!

When I talk to Roland they will say: "most of the Users are satisfied with everything"
You also deny very big existing Issues!

I always tried to be fair about the Fantom G and told about the many good things but also complained about the Bugs that really disturbs me when playing live.

But complaints are not welcome!
That´s the reason why I think that I´m wrong here! I don´t buy any Roland-stuff anymore.

I am over and out.
Bye bye

Wow. Fismoll7 doesn't know what a bug is either. This is a widespread epidemic. It's like those hip hop guys calling basic MIDI transfer of notes "syncing" or how every DAW (even Fruity Loops) is now "ProTools" or a middle-8 is a "bridge" or all the instruments in a song is called the "beat".

Maybe a few years from now, "bug" will be synonymous with "things I don't like about a product".

Like:

"Man, they added mustard to this burger. I hate mustard! What a buggy burger."

"Julia Roberts looks like a horse. She's such a buggy actress."

"George W. Bush sure bugged up the economy."

Right now, however, blindly screaming "BUGS!" just makes you look ignorant of what a bug is and isn't.

Hey, A. Works:

I had forgotten how funny (and how accurate) your posts are. I hadn't heard specifically many of the items that you detail in paragraph one, but I do believe you when you say that these "hip-hop" guys say those things.

I mean no disrespect toward anyone who creates hip-hop, by the way. You don't always need to have the right lingo to create great stuff. On the other hand, it is a mark of skill that sets apart those who have the correct terminology down -- from those who don't.

If what you're pointing out becomes the norm, then we'll have some serious problems. You can blame a lot of people, but the ones I blame most are the Republicans in congress (in the United States). I'll pull NO punches here -- anyone who says that GWB was a "great prezudunt" and who routinely calls in to Rush's program with positve feedback needs to understand some things.

You cannot mandate educational reform without educating EVERYONE. That means that you will HAVE TO PART WITH MOST OF YOUR HARD-earned (and NOT so hard-earned) dollars to fund PUBLIC EDUCATION. If you disagree, then I must tell you to go to hell.

People in my country are beginning to see the light. This is why 75% of the population backs Barack Obama. This is also why the Republicans in congress are currently enjoying their lowest approval ratings in history -- on average, at about 25% approving, and about 60% disapproving.

Anyway, someone here wrote that this thread was a "rant." That was mine. Enjoy your day.

:)

Believe it or not, the internet is not your own little playground. Roland Clan / Fantomized is privately owned and therefor follows the rules of the owner ... kinda like someone asking you to take your shoes off at their house. You can't scream "I have rights" ... that's great and all, but it doesn't apply.

There are tons of ways to "complain/voice displeasure" aside from this website. And, to be honest, this is probably one of the least effective mediums for that anyway.

BTW -- Don't confuse "hip hop guys" with hip hop producers. I don't know a single person who produces hip hop for a living who talks like that or who fails to grasp basic production terminology. Guys you're talking about "make beats" and will always "make beats" ... I know no one did, just sayin' ... ;-)

Hanging out here and complaining day in and day out about the keyboard you bought, but don't like, and yet never addressing the issue first with your dealer absolutely confuses me. (I don't know about the rest of the world but in the US you typically have 30 to 45 days to return something. Which seems to me adequate time to determine if a product isn't right for you. And same with mail order. I think Sweetwater has a sixty day return policy. And they have call in Tech Support. In fact, we have a staff person, paid by RolandUS, who works at Sweetwater as their in-house, Roland product specialist.)

Added to that, many people here react as if Roland held a gun to their head and made them purchase a Fantom-G. Did these same people step inside a music store first and demo the sounds? Check out the features? Investigate the instrument to make sure it had the features they want?

I have read posts where guys will complain about the piano sounds yet claim to own the instrument. But then I have to ask, why did you buy the Fantom-G (which has excellent to superior piano sounds to any other workstation out there) if you felt you didn't like the sounds? Did you play them at a store before you bought the instrument? Then there are the guys who post here disappointed that the sequencer isn't ProTools in a keyboard. Which again begs the question, did they investigate the sequencer (which is superior to anything out there in a keyboard workstation) to see if it had the features they wanted before they bought it?

Then when someone has an issue, they don't return to their dealer, they don't contact their local Roland division, they instead come on the INTERNET?

If you didn't like the way the trash was being collected on your street, you wouldn't go to a forum to get it changed? (I at least hope you wouldn't) You'd call your local city government, or write a letter to them, or call them. Right? If your house was on fire, would you log in and complain about the fire department not coming -- to a user forum, instead of actually calling them?

I don't mean to be facetious, I'm just trying to educate myself.

You are absolutely not getting the point! We push on people who trash this forum with too much repetitive information, that's it. They would have been "punished" even if they were posting their praises, not complaints. Reading same messages over and over again is unimaginably boring.
