New site feature: news section

Post by Artemiy »

Hello, community!

I am happy to tell that, finally, the news are no longer just on the forums and in the newsletter. The Roland Clan now has a dedicated news section (on the home page) where we'll be posting information on new Roland products and events, new videos and tutorials, third-party products and site features. I'll try to post anything more or less significant as often as possible. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed to be in sync with all announcements, and the newsletter will be sent out once in 1-2 weeks as usual.

Enjoy!

BTW, just added color differentiation between the "news bulb" graphics. I think it's very cool because now you instantly know which type of news this is, without even reading the title.

The colors are:

– Blue: new video
– Orange: Roland Clan site/forum news
– Green: third-party news
– Purple: Roland news

Oh yes, and while I was at it, I implemented link auto-detection. You no longer to add the [url] tags manually.

Hey Artimey! Great homepage! Can the color keycode be posted on the page, or do you feel that is unneccesary?

Good point, piaknow! I will think about it. I just thought that in a while, people will get used to the colors. But maybe you're right, I will have a look at where to place it best.

I get logged out when I go to the news page and then back to the forum.

You're likely switching between rolandclan.com and rolandclan.info. Our main domain is .com now, but you may have .info in your bookmarks.

Hey Agent Artemiy!

In all humility, I hesitate to mention this but . . . you forgot a category! Please . . . don't be ashamed! Everyone makes a mistake once in a while. Why, I remember back in '74 . . .

SRA, don't you know that secret news must be secret? Like, you post them, but they're never displayed. Isn't this super cool?

You mean like . . . totally invisible? That's great! Hmmm . . . Why didn't I think of that?
