I really liked the BNC-37 piano bench (YES!!!).
Re: Roland debuts new products at 2010 winter NAMM
That bench brought a tear to my eye. :-'(
Roland really does care!

Re: Roland debuts new products at 2010 winter NAMM
I sure did not see anything that impressive! I am a bit disappointed.

I do like that they are back to the VR series V-combo. Unfortunately it looks like you lose the SRX compatibility on the VR-700 which you had on the VR-760 but you can now split the organ patches.
Re: Roland debuts new products at 2010 winter NAMM
Hahahaha!! They couldn't just name it a Roland Piano Bench, huh? No, uh-uh... This is a "BNC-37" ... If that name doesn't sell it, I don't know what will.. I wonder who was the loser who had the privilege to demo it to the people expecting something to do with music... Can you imagine trying to get people to visit your booth and all you got is a wooden bench and some other nic-nack products that sit in peoples studios with nothing to do? Good Job Roland, you really outdid yourself this year...
But you know, this lack of anything from Roland could mean this is FG's final year... I was expecting them to update at least the MV-8800 since there's plenty of room for improvement in it.. That's what happens when you're too busy fishing for new fish... You forget about the ones you already caught so they rot...

Re: Roland debuts new products at 2010 winter NAMM
I think it's great timing for the new VR-700. Korg has just released their very cool looking sv-1 vintage keyboard, but it's got some shortcomings where the Roland shines: real drawbars, organ modeling vs samples, waterfall keyboard, multitimbral, etc. As long as it's priced right, it will give the Korg and the Nords a run for their money.

$2399.00 retail I saw. That should translate to $1999.00 to be perfectly competitive with Nord Electro 3 and Korg SV1 73.
And....76 Key!
73 would frustrate the living daylights out of me.
