AX-Edge MIDI Messages

Post by alexedward224 »

Using the AX-Edge software and hardware, how can I send a MIDI NRPN message from the AX-Edge to a Hammond SKX? For example, when I press the S1 button on the Ax-Edge, a message comprised of three parts must be sent to the Hammond like the ones below.
  • Controller Non-registered Parameter (MSB) B0 63 00
    Controller Non-registered Parameter (LSB) B0 62 08
    Controller Data Entry (06) B0 06 01
I have searched the AX-Edge Editor within an individual part. I can set S1 to 06:Data which sends the third message. Other Roland keyboard controllers have place holders for the MSB and LSB values for each control but not the AX-Edge. Is it not possible to send NRPN's?

Thanks.

You can set MSB/LSB/PC for each of the up to 4 Parts that make up a Program, as described on p.15 of the manual, "Using the AX-Edge as a Master Keyboard"

After researching this, I have found that MSB and LSB shown in the AX-Edge documentation and also shown in the previous reply only affects Program Banks and Program changes. This does work for individual controls. Thanks.
