sp-555 midi problem

i´m new usin this kind of instrument and i got a cuestion, how i can program the midi chanel??? when i connect the 555 via midi with aextenal secuenser some pads are triggered and i don´t find the problem. i tries to change the paremeters of the external secuenser but is not the solution, i read and reread the manual. please help me!!!!
