Is anybody getting a small shock when they run their fingures over the 909? Is this an earthing issue?

Yep, but it's you who has the charge - well should be. In fact, to make sure there isn't an earthing issue with the MC, you should also get a shock if you touch a radiator or anything metal that has a good earth. If the MC has an earthing issue, it is very possible that the case is actually conducting.
Providing it is you that has the charge, when you touch something that is earthed, it will discharge through your finger into the metal chassis. You must be walking around in big fluffy socks to get so charged up ;¬) try rubber sole shoes instead.
