MC-909 rhythm edit

Does the rhythm edit just allow to make drums kits with only 16 pads per kit?
I´ve saw that the sounds are assigned to the rest of the keys below B3 and above D5 (SRX 5) but when i change the octave i have no sound there...why?
I would like to have the drum kits like the MC-505 in full keyboard scale,not just one octave.
