MC-909: Loading samples from 2 smart media cards?

Post by bradelectro »

My 128mb smart media card is full and I want to be able to load more samples into the 909 from a second card. When I do it overwrites all the samples from the first card. How do I do it?

Thanx,
B

You need to make sure the sample numbers do not overlap. E.g. have sample in slots 1-100 on card 1 and samples in slots 101-200 on card 2.

Yulp, that's exactly what I did- card 1 is 0-850, and card 2 starts at 851. I boot up with card 1, and after its loaded, swap out with card 2. Then I go to the sample menu/load all samples and card 2 samples load. But this erases all samples from card 1! What am I doing wrong?

Thanx,

Uhm, the Fantoms don't do it like this, it works... I guess you will have to manually mark the samples from card 2.

Yeah, that's what the Roland tech support guy said but I didn't trust him 100% b/c he also said I should just get a 256mb smart media card, which don't exist. Loading samples individually doesn't work when you're a live pa and you have 15 minutes to set up...Anyway, your help is appreciated- thank you,

YES! Found out how to do it- this is from the MC909 Yahoo Groups forum- thought I'd share the knowledge:

I did it like this:
-First card, Load all sample.
-Second card, "Mark Set All", then "Load" (Shift - F3)

Thanx,
