What about this in the style of the MV 8800, but with the 16 big pads? That would be sweet too! But I still like it as it is though!

"the mc 303 and 505 was a derivate of the jv 2080 engine
- the mc 909 and 808 are derivates of the xv 5080 engine
- the mc 1000 will be a derivate of the fantom g engine "

Hi BDW, there is a mistake in your post the mc909 come from the XV-5050 engine.

Sadly no new groovebox at namm 2009 :(
so MC-1010 had to wait...
best regards

Will there ever be an MC-909 or MV-8800 replacement/upgrade?

Post by DJFLEX-mk2 »

ANOTHER OLD POST: DATE 17 December 2007.. That I Posted Before in the past.

I believe Roland main heart now is only on the Roland MV-8800. Since 2003 - When they introduce the Roland MV-8000. The only Upgrade they did on this, was add a color LCD display - few changes inside the unit. Updated O.S., new panel color. Better Hard Drive. So not much changes as you see its the Same Machine the Roland MV-8000 vs Roland MV-8800.

Its seem's Roland Corporation life span on there gear's is only up to 4 year's til they introduce something else thats maybe better or replacement. In this case they tryed with the Roland MC-808 but its not much better then the Roland MC-909. Each machine has there own use for what people are looking to use them to make there own music. If you already have the Roland MC-909, get a laptop to add more back to back power with your Roland MC-909. The Roland MV-8800 is still a good machine don't get me wrong, but don't compare them like apples and oranges. You can even still use the Roland MV-8800 with your Roland MC-909 & Roland MC-808. Its up to you to think whats you want to add to your craft. Also up to you to feel and think what is easy on your spending for your pockets. Every machine is good as how you make them come alive when making your own music. MACHINE OR INSTRUMENTS don't make music. Its people behind the gear's - are the one who really making the music. Your gear's are only your extension of your mind.

"FEEL THE ART OF MAKING ELECTRONIC MUSIC" !

[---------------------------------------------------------------------]

YES, IT SEEMS...NO NEW MC-SERIES GROOVEBOX SAMPLER, TO BE PROMOTED AT THE NAMM 2009...
LIKE I SAID IN THE PAST,...

"Its seem's Roland Corporation life span on there gear's is only up to 4 year's til they introduce something else thats maybe better or replacement."

...IT'S PRETTY SAD...WELL WITH THE [ROLAND MC-808] - IT WAS FIRST SHOWN (NAMM 2006)....AND THE [ROLAND MC-909] IN (2002).....THEN THE [ROLAND MC-505] IN (1998)...AND THE EXCEPTION OF THE [ROLAND MC-303] IN (1996). SO I PREDICT THAT ROLAND WILL INTRODUCED THERE NEW MC-SERIES OR MV-SERIES IN (2010 OR 2011)...
AND WERE GETTING CLOSE TO THOSE YEARS...ITS ABOUT FOUR YEARS UP FOR THE NEW INTRODUCTION OF NEW MC-SERIES OR MV-SERIES units...ROLAND ENGINEER'S ARE MAYBE STILL WORKING HARD ON THERE NEXT FUTURE PRODUCTS...I'M SURE ROLAND IS READING THESE POSTING FROM EVERYONE OF US ON WHAT WE CAN EXPECT ON THE NEXT ROLAND PRODUCTS. I'm sure, what ever the next SERIES OR MV-SERIES will be? I know it will be welcome with open arms. So get busy ROLAND CORP. I know times hard hard..."REINVENT THE FUTURE" !

My imaginary MC-990 (3D concept)

Post by sonicocr »

This is a 3D design I made thinking on a new Roland groovebox call MC-990... I dream to see the JP8000 or SH-201 sound engines inside a groovebox more DAW and computer intergration... or maybe some new "V-TR" based on analog modeling for emulating the TR808, TR909 and TB303... I dont like the ROMpler concept.

bring it down to MSRP range of 999$-1200$ and i'll wait a year and pick it up on ebay for 700$ One year later this outdated monster mash would be quashed by a new Quasimidi beast 666 with a host of spdif's and midi outs/thru's-only to be challenged by a Novation Quantra-Nova with an astounding interactive 6 channel surround ready matrix of blues based pedal steel guitar and banjo foot stomping meatbox 12 bit samples of raw oriental majestic gongs and spoons with the occasional GM soundset-12 string bass and navajo chants and plucked piano, 70's hendrix influenced big muff samples and rough guy interviews with the devil by william burroughs.Chief,im up to the task, thats right, the "CONE OF SILENCE" from control headquarters echo chamber would be included and a fancy upgrade kit to boot.Fully supports "twiddly bits" collection and flash-only RAM.

I love first concept of MC-1000, but I would say rather "V-Groovebox" or "V-GROOVE".....

I bought NanoStudio for my iPod touch a week ago, and can assure you that it beats early MC grooveboxes out of the water. Read the specs yourself:
http://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/specifications.php

It sounds really amazing for such a pocket device. And you can render your whole track as a .wav file right there, too. When there comes the iPad version, you get all your groovebox dreams under $600-700 - an impossible price for dedicated hardware groovebox.
