MC 808 Hip Hop?

Post by panoramic »

anybody out there using the mc808 to make hip hop? Does it take long to load your samples on the 808 and how is the sequencer? There are really not a lot of videos out there, and I kinda like grooveboxes compared to using MPC's and I am getting tired out staring at a computer screen all the time when I make music. Oh yeah, how is the Auto Chop function?

Yeah, I seen ol' boy's videos, but that's like two videos. How long the MC been out? It's all good. I been looking at getting one just because everybody uses MPC's to do hip hop and I had a 500 and did not like it. Just wanted to know if there were some real Mc users on here that use it for hip hop. I'm going to get one anyway. Peace

I plan on using it for hip hop tracks too. I just think that with the later MPCs and now the Maschine, the sampling time is not as great, etc. I haven't seen anyone past Knock using it a great deal for hip-hop...yet. I have a MPC 1000 as well.

You know what I'm gonna cop one just because everybody say you can't do nothing with it besides techno. I just don't believe it. I wanna be that dude to make that 808 sing and have people asking what I'm using. Yeah, don't get me wrong the Maschine is nice and I will probably get one later, but for me the MC808 is just different and that makes it all the more attractive to me. Peace

Same reason I have mine. I'm like u....I already started working on an chillout/electronica EP with songs all done on the MC-808. We need to bring that back into the limelight, I feel you.
