Hi,
I just recently purchased a MC909 and I am brand new to the forum. I have a large collection of SMF drum patterns that I want to import. I have created my own rhythm sets that map to the MIDI drum map two octaves up,so I just have to transpose my SMF files.
My problem is the number of steps it takes to import the SMF file into a pattern and name it. I have a couple thousand SMF files. Is there any way to automatically name the pattern after the SMF file name?
Additionally, is there anyway to set a default rhythm set for the creation of new patterns? Assigning rhythm sets to so many patterns is a chore.
Below is the process I am going through. If anyone could suggest a better way to do this or a utility that would help me I would be most thankful.
>All 2500 SMF files have been transferred to the SM card.
>Utility Import SMF
>Navigate through the SM card to find the SMF file
>Import to blank pattern
>Save (name pattern)
>Assign Rhythm Set to Pattern
>Transpose Pattern
Thanks,
Cass Snider
