Hi there,
I have opportunity to buy very very cheap mc-909 from someone. It's not functional - freezes on start screen with Roland logo.
Do You know what might it be?
I'm not a big engineer, but i've asked few people and they think it's because one of the flash rom chips, and it should be replaced
I'd like to risk. I don't have roland service in my country and even if i had- i can't afford it.
I've found some electronic shops with toshiba and fujitsu chips for few dollars. Let's suppose I've made it and soldered chips. Do i need to program sth on them? Where is firmware of mc909 installed? Generally - what do You think about it?

I don't own it, i've opportunity to buy it for less than $200.
But it freezes on start screen and has bad pixels (line) on LCD.
Guy who's selling it told me he has suspicion of broken "flash memory on mainboard" and suggest authorised service.
I just wonder if it's all worth risk to experiment and repair myself.
