Hello
Can the 909 sequence a external synt with its midi, for instance if i have a 8 part synth like Jd Xa can I record and sequence the midi back to the synth where the corresponding parts on the synth gone play back, just like a traditional sequencer?.

/Jack

Pretty sure you can. I am not familiar with the JD-Xa, although I really want one, but if the different parts are separate midi channels, which I think they are, than yes.

Here is a tutorial on the MC-909 if you need further assistance.

You can definitely sequence external synths. I'm also not familiar with the JD-Xa, but all you have to do is connect the midi out of the 909 to the midi in of yr external synth. Just make sure the 909 is set to 'master' or 'remote' in the global midi settings, and yr external synth is set to receive midi (clock/notes/cc). Record a sequence on whichever channel you want, and set it to EXT or BOTH on the 909 Patch Mode screen
