MC-505 Presets from JV-2080? JX-305?

Post by busssy2333 »

I emailed Roland also, but asking here too for good measure.

I love the mc 505 presets but I want more of that 'set' plus easier & more in depth editing of them. I know JX-305 is the "keyboard version of MC-505", but would I get more of the same set of presets and editing with something like the JV-2080? Someone on vintagesynth forum posted years ago that the 505 engine and patches actually come from the JV-2080 module.

Basically, I like the way the team who made the presets for the 505 did, but if there's more from the same 'set' that team made, I want them all.

Although the engine from the 505 (and JX-305) may be from the JV-2080, if the presets are not the same, then I'm not sure I'd be interested. I'm willing to buy a JV-2080 to check them out though but figured I'd ask just to make sure in case there's a synth and/or expansion card with even more of the patch 'set'.

On the 505 for example patches: 82=Lo-Fi Guitar, 103=Seq Up, 71=Hallucinate. (I think Hallucinate is actually A72 or A73 but I don't have the 505 next to me to check). Anyway, are those patches on anything besides the 505? I already have those patches in the 505 but I want more from the team or person who made those patches. I love late 90's Roland patches. Thanks in advance.

edit. I found the patch listing for 505
http://forum.cakewalk.com/Roland-Groove ... 18743.aspx
and for the JV-2080
http://cms.rolandus.com/assets/media/pdf/JV2080pat.pdf

but when I Ctrl+F to FIND 'hallucinate' for the 2080, it's apparently not there, neither is 103= Seq Up or 82=Lo-Fi Guitar. So I don't think they have the exact same path listing. The 505 has 82=Lo-Fi Guitar, 103=Seq Up, 71=Hallucinate. (I think Hallucinate is actually A72 or A73) but I think those might be exclusive to the 505 because they are sort of more groove boxy one-press sounds, and I think just the standard ROMpler strings, piano, orchestral etc sounds on the 505 are possible identical to the 2080. I jonly want the sort of one-press sounds from the 505,,,and whatever else ones like that the team that programmed the 505 made.

So the patch you're looking for is only specific to the mc-505?? Just trying to make sense of the reply from Roland.

why comparation mc 505 with jv ???? they share few pianos and organs and other standard sounds that were popular in the 90's nothing else ... mc505 is created mostly from jv's vintage and dance/techno/hiphop expansion cards ...
