Hello, and Happy New Year All!

When I updated my Roland MC-909 operating system software from 1.20 to 1.23 via USB (because my Smart Media card reader is not working), than happend something wrong. The update process has been successfully completed, but when I Turn On my machine, I see that missing all of factory preset pattern, song, rps. How can I restore them? Please help me!
If I copy the files manualy from update (Roland folder) via computer to the MC (SEQ\PTN), than it put the 737 preset to user preset area (just only 384). I tried re update, downgrade back 1.20, then update again (without sample), factory reset, but no way was good.
I show on this forum, lot of people have same problem, but I didn't find exact solution this problem... Is it possible right update without Smart Card or not?
Can somebody help me?

Not sure if you're able to rollback the update or not? Have a copy of the original files if you need them. You should be able to connect to a pc and copy and paste them into your mc909's directory via usb. Pretty sure that would get you back to factory but you would obviously lose any user pattern/samples/patches.

I did the USB update a while back and wiped all the factory stuff as said in original post. The way I fixed it was to do a factory reset via a smart media card that has been formatted in another mc909. Luckily my friend had an extra smart media card and 909. Sounds like you're out of luck with this method though if the SM port on your 909 is busted :(

Hi I was wondering if anyone could copy the software on ur smart media card
U see I try to update the software and something went wrong and now when I turn it on I get the fatal error message. I was hoping that if I had a copy of the card that was formatted in the 909 that it might work. I would be willing to pay up of course.
Please text me and let me know if u would be willing to give it a try. This could help other with the same problem. Thanks advance. 914-426-1106. name is Vince.
