Ok I am running the Electribe2 as master and the 909 as slave. My problem I am facing today is the 909 even when all channels are muted if I hit play on the E2 there is a synth sound playing from the 909. Now I have determined the sound from the 909 corresponds to a sound on the E2. I know for a fact that the E2 sends midi out channels 1-16 from each of its pads. So the 909 is receiving midi on channel 1 and is playing even though it has no sound dedicated to its channel 1 and its muted at that.

Any ideas?

Never mind fixed it. On the E2 is a midi filter transmit setting that I changed to short(whatever that means Korg) and that resolved the issue
