MC-909 recording patch parameter changes

Specifically looking to record changes in pitch to individual rhythm instruments in a pattern. Is there not a way to record changes to the Wave Pitch parameter into the sequencer? I know I use the Pitch knob to record realtime knob movements, but that only seems to work globally for an entire patch. Are the 'realtime modify' pots and sliders the ONLY way to record parameter changes into the sequencer?
