MC-909: Loading with SM-card inserted

Post by flonky »

Hi, I have a "new" MC-909 with a 128MB-SM-card to which I copied the Don Solaris Sound Set.
When I insert the card into the MC-909 it takes minutes to boot.
Sometimes it even sticks on the "Now Loading ..."-screen and nothing happens.
Is that a normal behaviour taking so long to load the card?
Thanks,
Florian

Yes, it takes just that much long time because SM card just runs at a really slow r/w speed (<1MB/s). You might go to System setting to unchech load samples at boot, or you take off SM card before boot the machine. That would help speed up the boot process quite a lot, but in the end if you want to load all of the samples, it just takes as the same time.
