Hey Grooveboxers,
I have had to update a MC-909 Groovebox with an OS 1.04 (I kid you not!) to v1.23 by downloading the OS from the Roland site to a SmartMedia card and then rebooting with that card.
However, what had started as 737 presets on the Groovebox has now reduced to 205 presets. I must admit, those presets are more usable, but there were some pretty good presets previously.
Is there way to restore the presets back into the MC909?
Cheers,
Dan

Factory reset should do it

Hey Bonerton, Thanks for the message. But a factory reset does not help. I have a few hundred empty slots in the presets patches now and no idea how to fill it...

Maybe try the procedure update again? I once updated via USB and lost all of the preset patterns and patches (this has been known to happen). I can't quite remember what I did, but it was something along the lines of doing the update again, making sure I did it correctly, and then factory reset. A lot of the presets are trash, but they can be good for learning how certain patterns or patches were created
