Will the new OS flash the ROM with the new patch set?
If does then how about an option to flash the ROM with your own patch set?
Just wondering
Effect of "Factory Reset" with OS2
Re: Effect of "Factory Reset" with OS2
I'd just save the project in user memory to PC and then perform the update.

Re: Effect of "Factory Reset" with OS2
When you carry out a "Factory Reset" the V-synth is returned to its default condition.
Lets say you have upgraded to OS 2.0 and you then carry out a "Factory Reset"
What will the default patches be now?
The same as with 1.5 or the new ones with 2.0?
My guess is 2.0....

Since tha factory reset will be done by means of OS 2.0, it will definitely load the newly-included default setup, the old one will get erased with the previous OS.

Re: Effect of "Factory Reset" with OS2
I'm wondering about the compatibilty of the older (1.5.1) patches with the new OS. Sometimes when a manufacturer updates their firmware, the older patches don't sound the same.
I'd hate to lose the old sounds just to get the new. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Effect of "Factory Reset" with OS2
As far as I know, the 2.0 engine will read all 1.5x patches. And it's also obvious since I do not see any changes except for step mod and new OSCs. I do not know about the factory wave set, so those patches that use 1.5x factory waves will have to have waves re-selected, but maybe Roland will offer some kind of software for this, I have no info on this so far.
