New V-Synth Owner

Post by nsheldon »

Hello all. Received my V-Synth today.

Very exciting instrument! The preset patches are, for the most part, not that inspiring, but the instrument's potential is phenomenal. The real-time controllers are exceptional as well. Can't wait for the new V-Synth OS 2.0 to be released.

Any quick new user suggestions for an experienced synth guy are welcome. Snide and deriding comments are fun too! :-D

Regards,

Nathan Sheldon

Hey Nathan!

I am very glad to hear this! I will soon post my own V-Synth patches, and you'll hear "my vision" of V-Synth's possibilities. It's a really amazing instrument.

OS 2.0 will change a lot - Roland promised new waves and more "playable" sounds. I too hope to get it working on my V soon.

As of some tips, check out the Tips'n'tricks collection: http://v-tribe.info/documents/V-Synth-TNT.html

And read the FAQ too if you want:

Welcome Nathan, the presets serve as a good example and reference point, but more importantly it is how they can be made to sound which I love.

The Roland manuals are really quite good and are worth a read. The V-Synth book is another good read as will be Artemio's qweak book...

Thanks a lot for the info guys. Yep, I've already read the tips'n'tricks. Very interesting. I have begun reading the manual. It does seem very helpful. I think I just need to start messing with buttons and knobs and stuff. That's the funest part of learning synth architectures really. ;-)
