V-Synth Tweakbook 3rd edition

Post by Artemiy »

Hello everybody!

I am glad to announce the third edition of the V-Synth Tweakbook, which brings a lot of new material, including 9 new articles (some with special V-Synth GT content), over 20 new patch examples, as well as updates to the parameter map. Apart from expanding the coverage of oscillators and COSM processors, the new version also describes working with the V-Synth synthesizers in more unusual ways, like using them with external gear and even real "patching" with cables.

In total, the third edition features:

- 28 illustrated articles
- 111 example patches
- 57 audio demos

More information is available here at the Sinevibes web site:

Also available from Roland Japan in Japanese:

Enjoy,

Artemiy.

Great Artemio :) What's the upgrade price for us who already own the previous edition?

Hugo, new editions are free updates, always. If you haven't got the update, this means your junk mail filter ate it ;-) Please e-mail me, I will send the book to you.

Hugo, just make sure you are not using a Hotmail or MSN account, these guys reject my mails for some reason.

I can not get the tweakbook XT patches to load. The GT patches load fine with all of the vocoder stuff, but all of the banks are empty when I load the XT .prj
What might I be doing wrong? When I look at the files on my usb drive I see all of the patches are in there but once I load the project all of the banks are empty.

futurelooper, the patches folder includes projects in V-Synth and V-Synth GT formats. The ones in GT format include all patches from the V-Synth folder too, so do not worry, you do not miss anything.

I am only getting about 20 patches to load and they are almost all vocoder patches.

The V-Synth GT patches folder includes two projects:

Tweakbook.prj
Tweakbook GT.prj

The first one is the one with main patches, and it's in the GT format (made on the GT itself, of course). Doesn't it load on your GT?

Art,

Would buying the latest tweakbook help me understand the differences between buying an XT or GT synth? Was wanting a rack mounted XT but prices dropping on GT makes me reconsider.

RichardHK, yes you will see the difference better, as there are several GT-specific articles and you will see whether you need this kind of functionality that's not there on the XT. Plus, you will of course appreciate the whole book in the future since you will get a V anyway ;-)

Yep, makes a lot of sense Art! Especially the GT-specific articles. Been holding off far too long for a V-whatever, so studying your Tweakbook will surely help. Will go for the credit card after one more nights sleep. ;)
