This is really strange...
I believe you should now try to format (initialize) the internal memory that may have been corrupted for some reason. Just follow the procedure on page 134 of the manual.
Once this is done you will probably want to turn it off, then on, before trying again to update.
If this fail too let check a few things:
The file v-synth.rom is 2,311,296 bytes
The file v-synthDiskImage is 9,875,338 bytes
Please check this with a right click - > properties
Then transfer one of the two following the update procedure, but stop after step 5. Do not eject.
At this point I suggest that you copy back the file from the v-synth to the pc, at a different location on your pc.
Compare the original file, to the file that you copied back. They should be exactly the same size.

I'm not sure I would be here to help later tonight, but will do tomorrow as soon as possible.
I Hope initializing the internal memory will solve the problem.

Yes, try formatting the internal memory. That may solve the problem.

Bit of a shot in the dark this, but could the issue be with the flash memory card or USB stick your using (assuming you are that is) I'm just thinking if this could be the issue. I had a similar issue with a memory card on my mobile that just went bad on me one day and wouldn't work at all even after re formating it. I had to replace it. just saying.

Dear Sir:
I've tried formatting the INTERNAL MEMORY, still no use.
Also I've found out that whatever I did that involved the memory save/load
No matter how much file I access, the progress bar always run to about 30% then stop.
Then it always shows "File not Found" (Please see below photos)

Now I'm wondering if this is because of the internal memory problem.. (Is there battery inside?)
Or the worst situation is to replace a new mainboard...
================================
Anyway, I think I've done all I can do...
Hope there are still some way to solve this :(

@synthman: good catch, but no, the update is done with a file transfer usb :(
@eclipse0119
While I still feel that we are missing something I would say that I've gone thru everything that I tought could have made the update to fail.
IF:
- The usb cable is right and the file is right and succesfully transfered: This could be checked by transfering it back to the PC and verifying the size.
- The internal memory is good : Checked via the "test mode"
- The v-synth is reset to factory: done
- The update procedure is executed the correct way : Assuming you did
It should work, but it doesn't :(
I'm really sorry but just can't think of anything else. At this point you may need to call Roland for support.
