Hello all.

Just to say hi to you all,

I became the proud owner of a V-Synth today and it was a real suprise as until I opened the box I had no idea I was getting one. It was a present from our daughter. After making some room amongst my other gear, Virus Snow, Sub 37, and a JD-XA, I was amazed at the sounds that it produces.

One problem I have found and from what I can gather from my internet searches, is the USB midi drivers in Windows 10 do not want to load, is there any solution or is it not possible.

Next thing to do is read all the paper work and start to load my own samples into it

Cheers,
Glyn.

You're a lucky chap - hope my daughters buy me nice synths for pressies one day!

You've got a classic machine there - totally different to your other gear - in fact, any other gear. It's possibilities are beyond other keyboards.

Re drivers - I'm not sure about Win10 but I doubt they'll work. There might be a work around. The V-Synth is no longer supported so drivers have not been updated for a while.

If I may, do visit my website www.jp-80.com - thousands of free sounds for the V-Synth - no registration, no adverts - just download, load up and have fun :)

Enjoy your new keyboard!

Congratulation glynbo. A new member in what is a rather exclusive club. You can loose yourself for hours just playing this board. And if you have the time and inclination, many more hours experimenting with rolling your own sounds. Enjoy!

Thanks Rodan,

it is an engrossing instrument, very different from any synths I have owned before, still busy going through the presets before I start loading my own samples.

Cheers,
Glyn.

Also have a look at the analog legend patches from Jama there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIq716_A330

This is one of the very few patche's bank that I've ever bought. Highly recommended if it fits the music you like to play. I first bought them for the original v-synth I had, then I was able to convert and install into my newer v-synth GT.

Hi LA Keys,

my V-Synth came with 2 cards and the Jama set is on one of them and is very impressive.

Glyn.

Welcome to the Clan, glynbo!

Happy for you.Soon you will find that V-Synth is an unique synth!

The guys already gave you some useful tips and URLs, and I'll add that in this forum there are thousands of Posts regarding this beast that can also be very useful to you.

Regarding the drivers, well... there are no V-Synth drivers for Windows 10, but for MIDI, an inexpensive MIDI DIN to USB interface like this will solve the lack of drivers very easily.

Cheers,
PauloF

Windows 7 works great with the V Synth, I was able to break the temptation of upgrading to windows 10 on my desktop and glad I did not, also spared me on my Fantom G.

There are some Fantom G fixes on the Fantom G sub for windows 10 and maybe be possible for your V Synth, I have not been successful with it, but others have.
