Looking for a VP9000 specialist

Post by Sutur »

Hi all,
I’m looking for someone who has good knowledge of Roland’s VP9000 Variphrase Processor. Recently, I got myself one and, under specific conditions, I experience strange problems which I will explain once a specialist responds.

It’s on the latest firmware and all internal tests run without any error.

I realize that there will be no updates in case of bugs. But it will ease my mind if I know these are common/known issues or, in worst case, a hardware problem.

Thank you!

Ok I'll bite. My only real advice is (1) Always update the firmware - you already did, and (2) strange samples cause strange encoding. I mean the number of complaints of 'bad artefacts' when using arguably polyphonic samples and attempting Solo encoding is unreal. Garbage in = Garbage out.
Anyway explain your foyboyles (or PM me if embarrassing) and I can at least repeat here and confirm you're not going mad.
Barry.
