There is still something more that implies this as a bug.

When you change the patterns with cursors without waiting, the sound is NOT interrupted.
Despite the abrupt action.

It's not unlikely that yes.

You'd have to search through 909's MIDI implementation chart (808's not published but supposedly it's identical), create a pattern with relevant sysex messages, and assign the pattern to RPS.

Just a guess.

1. Low quality sound
or
2. low frequencies?

Does it also happen when you play the sample at its original pitch?

I'd do this

Go to empty pattern

enter patch mode

import sample (even if you have it imported elsewhere)

play c4 key (no pitch change)

Still wrong?

Go to system menu

reduce output volume (-6dB should be more than OK)

If it's not better, have a look (magnify) at the wave in some editing tool or 808 sample editor. If the wave is not flattened against zero db line and the sample plays ok from your computer, I think it's time you consulted RSupport.

welcome

How do you save the samples?

try in two ways:

1. "Save all samples"
2. "save patch" (press WRITE). choose saving to card. along with saving patch the sample is saved too.

I´m trying to save to internal memory(which is expanded to 516mb). I´m working without a card right now. On the system utility it says "sample memory:510mb free" but it says "user: 0mb free". so maybe that´s it. I just got it second hand. Do you think restoring faztory settings might be a good idea??thanks a lot for helping. best

Not sure if I understand.
If you try to save to user and the sample is too big, you may get this error message. Try saving to card.
