MC 808 Sound& Filters Vs MPC 1000,2500

Post by lelo »

Hey Mike Acosta.

You can Answer this for me.How is the sound of the MC 808
compare to MPC 1000,2500,MV8000, Emu Sampers. Are the Filters in the MC808 capable of reproducing that phatt warm sound,in your face Smack sound. The MV8000 is a Phatt,Warm sounding box, where's the Akai's are tight,
in your face smack sounding. And the Seqencer in the MC808 compared to Juno G, Which would be better as a Master or Slave?

Hey Lelo

Thats an apples n oranges comparison there.

MV vs MPC is debatable but the MC-808 is a ROMpler with a sampling section , so the sound is different IMHO. Although like ive said in other posts the MC-808's sample engine with the new WX chip definatly makes drum samples smack pretty good , its mos def a huge improvement in the " Groove " line. Filters are nice on it , especially when using the matrix controll to sweep & tweek em.

MC-808 is pattern based vs the Juno G is a linear sequencer with audio tracks , so again its different and is subject to a persons personal prefrence of working.

Juno G would be great as a Master.
