909 tools for 808

Post by TOTAL »

They can be found at mc909.org

rps editor and sample editor among them

Has anyone tested them?

Also, there's sample utility which works with 808.

Both seems to be working, but does it provide sometning more than MC-808 Editor? MC-909 seems to having same functions.

With RPS Edit ... can I program own sequences into RPS patterns in RSP Edit ? Looks like no.

I have done some testing. Here's what I've found out.

Sample utility - does something 808 Editor does not do. It has two functions.

w2r - changes the sample name to match R format. Advantage: you can prepare many samples to be copied directly to smpl folder. This means you don't have to internally import them. With 5+ samples at a time it becomes incresingly precious. Or maybe I miss some 808 function which renders the application useless for us?
Proven to work.

xname - even greater usage. changes toggles sample name betw smplxxxx.wav and sample's name give inside 909. Great for making compilations of several cards!!! - helps to see if any of samples' positions overlap.
Proven to work.

RPS editor - quite intuitively arranges a set of RPS from patterns stored on 808. Functionality not offered by 808 Ed. Unfortunately, doesn't work correctly w/808. Again, correct me if I'm wrong.

Sample Editor - Probably does not work on 808.

Hello! You can share these files. The resource on which you could download them is no longer relevant. Thanks in advance!

sorry, I don't have the application for 32bits,
but you can contact the trocol of the Hispasonic forum thread, which was the one that left me the sources to convert it to 64 bits. Maybe they can provide you with the original application.
best Regards
