start & stop on midi slave

Hi, i found a video on the web that show how to synchronize audio and midi with a little sampler.
I try this at home, but when the mc 808 is on slave mode i could not press the play button... there is a way to resolve my problem?

From what I understand, when ur in slave mode on the mc-808 u loose that ability. The other machine that it is synchronized to has complete control.
