can or can't

Post by 22tape »

hey guys/gals. i might be buying an 808. i have a question though. i keep reading that you can' t edit certian parameters from the 808 itslef-- that you can only edt some parameters from the computer editor program. but i can't find a list, or any other document, that tells me which ones i can/can't edit from the 808 itself. i'd rather not have to edit too much from the computer. thanks!

Hi,

you can manipulate envelopes, cutoff and resonance but e.g. you cannot change the waveform (sample) on that a part i based.

It is ok to finetune a sound for the needs of your song directly on the mc-808 but you cannot do real sound creation on it. For that you need the editor.

All parameters that can be changed are accessible through the automated sliders (16 per part per tone) and 2 parameters for each effect (marked with a 1) or 2) in the manual. Everything is in the manual.

If you want to go with in deep sound editing on the machine you better go with something else (e.g. mc-909).

Have fun,

Dirk.
