MC808 Patch Share

Post by akirasuki »

Hello All,

This is my first post! Proud mc-808 owner for 1 year

I was hoping we might start up a patch share as a thread, perhaps with mind to creating a full section eventually of MC-808 patches... but the attach uploader wont allow .mc8 extensions!

can this be circumvented?

If they require samples perhaps links to them with patch included in reply/message

I'm hoping to kick us off I'm donating a patch I made today... its a 'Boards of Canada' Style SoftPad, utilising lfo randomisers on the amp and filters, patch it to an octave feedback delay on mfx1 or 2!

I have had mine for over 3 or 4 years and still haven't figured out how to make my own patches. I it was because I think Roland said I needed Cubase, so I never got it. Am I wrong, or is there a patch editor I need to download?? The disc that came with mine was only drivers and the 808 program (for controlling the 808 and changing samples, patches, and rhythms).

the link above is for the editor...

the editor is immensely powerful once you figure it out, but it does take time... every single patch can have up to 4 simultaneous waveforms, with 2 separate LFOs on each one... over 100 wave settings plus other options.
intricate filter and amp settings can be made, even velocity settings for each wave within a patch e.g. on a bass patch have nice low hum up to 100, then add an attack wave 101-127

this doesn't even cover the sample editing part...

look from 3.00.

the editor can be clunky, but persevere and i think you'll be happy at the extra functionality you gain.
