Salut to Roland Clan!
I have 2 questions to ask:
1)How to config the MC-808 to MIDI control it by the MV-8800?
2) How to config the MV-8800 to MIDI control it by the MC-808?
And may be someone have some info how to combine these 2 machines, i think there are some great possibility!
Need your help!)
Peace!
MC-808 & MV-8800
Re: MC-808 & MV-8800
Step 1. Read the manuals.
Now actual step 1 for the MC-808 lol.
You just hook-up the midi cables, MC-808 midi in and MV-8800 midi out. You can now send midi data from the MV-8800 to the MC-808. Connect the MC-808 midi out to the midi in of the MV-8800. Now your machines are synced up. The MC-808 will send all midi to the MV-8800 from inside the MC-808's sequencers and vice versa.
To have the MC-808 as the slave just press "System" then "Shift"+"2" and it should say "System:Sequencer Sync Mode: Master/Slave/Remote". Choose "slave" via the jog wheel.
Now the Mc-808 is setup for slave mode. It will start as soon as the MV-8800 is started.
If you have midi notes on say channel 3, for example, and do not want them to sound in the MV-8800 then here is what you. Make sure you are in "pattern" mode Go to "Part Select" press 3 (or what ever channel you do not want notes to be sent) and press "shift"+"13/part param" and "cursor ->" over until you come across "seq output asgn:" and jog wheel left for "INT". Now the notes will be INTernal and note EXTernal or BOTH. Now you now how to fix the rest as well.
I do not have a MV-8800 but I am sure if you read the manual you can come across what you need from that.
I hope I have helped you in what you want accomplished, if not I will do my best to correct it.
