completely new to the mc 808 but I just got one passed down to me and I have been for 2 days now trying to use the mpk49 to have better keys to play with the 808's sounds.
1st problem I encountered: I learned that the MPK49's midi out does not work when it's powered via USB.
Solution: I got Akai's MP6-1 power source.
So now I have the MPK49 powered by the 6v power supply, midi cable coming from the MPK49's midi out going to the MC808's midi in, but still I cannot use the mpk's keys to use the 808's sounds?
what am I doing wrong? is there a certain preset the 808 needs to be in? is the mpk49 not a good candidate as a midi keyboard for this type of thing?
any help is appreciated, thanks.
mpk49 with mc 808
Re: mpk49 with mc 808
if im not mistaken you can set the mpk to midi or usb, its likely that the mpk is not sending midi information to the 808. my oxygene 8 had the same problem until i set it to INT instead of USB
