New to samples, patterns, songs.

Post by mc-13808 »

Hi,
I've been playing around with my mc-808 a little bit and I would like some advice on the best way of organizing patterns/samples in the memory.

I seem to set numbers in the memory aside to make a song or something and then move on to the next song and make more parts and I end up with a whole bunch of empty numbers between random numbers with parts and I still haven't made a song out of any of it.

I need to learn how to property put a song together and I also need to figure out how to organize my memory slots better. I feel like i'm not maximizing the potential.

For example, I have something on 1-10, then 20, then 75, then 100. I set aside space to make a song and don't make anything then start to make something else then set aside space for more parts and move on.

I would like to know how the pros go about this.

I hope I'm making sense. I'm very tired.
Thanks in Advance

in song mode cant you simply stitch any set of patterns together to make a song?.. really don't see the need for them to be sequential.
