Hi guys,
I joined this board hoping someone may be able to help me as I am frustrated with this problem and have thrown many hours into fixing it and researching yet nothing makes a diffrece.
Ok, I have a Roland PC200 mk 2 keyboard with 5 pin MIDI out. If I connect this MIDI out to ANY item in my studio it works fine right of the bat.
Hoever if I plug it into my MC 808 my 808 ignores it. I also have a few hardware sequencers that the 808 also chooses to ignore.
So I think its safe to conclude its not the MIDI cable or every other item in my studio its the 808.
So, I go through thread after thread online including this forum where kind people have put up there solutions for others like me.
USB MIDI - Storage and Soft USB MIDI off along with REMOTE KEYBOARD set to on.
Nothing makes a jot of difference.
Has any of you experts got a clue what I can try? Ive exhausted everything and beyond that I can think of.
Any help greatly appreciate.
Cannot trigger MC808 from external keyboard or anything
Re: Cannot trigger MC808 from external keyboard or anything
UPDATE:-
I have finally found the most bizarre problem ever. It was not the 808.
I have a MIDI cable that doesn't like Roland kit. I can trigger from my PC200 a yamaha, a korg and an ensoniq. But I realised it wouldn't trigger my Juno.
Swapping the cable out and now everything works.
Cant believe even MIDI cables can be racist! :-/
