MC808 Midi Channel Frustration

Post by zarg »

Hi

I have a MC808 that I want to use with my Roland HD3 V drums. The HD3 V Drums transmits on Midi Channel 10. There is no way to change the midi channel on the HD3. Unfortunately there seems to be no obvious way to set the MC808 to receive on Midi Channel 10, so the two can't communicate.

Does anyone know of a way I could get round this problem?

i allready used a Vdrum with the 808.
the 808 receive message on all midi channels, (each track number is receiving from the relative midi channel), that mean that each track 1 to 16 react from midi messages from each midi channel 1 to 16.
So, that mean that your Vdrum will drive the track 10, as you said it emit on the midi channel 10.
I used the 808 as a kind of expander for my Vdrum, and it work nicely.

It also helps to open the editor and set all parameters to not transmit any sound i.e. set them to 'OFF', turn off any LFO effects the channel might have, any other settings etc. and save it as a blank patch.
