Hello, I'm from Russia and I have some solutions how you can get normally functionality of mc 808 under modern os x like 10.10/10.11
I wrote an big article on the russian here: http://krasowski.livejournal.com/60058.html
You can use google translate.
In more simple form the steps should be:
1. download driver for os x 10.7 and extract .kext and .plugin files (with show packages and unarchive)
2. put .plugin to library/audio/midi drivers
3. download Kext Utility and patch .kext file of our roland
4. move patched .kext from /System/Library/Extensions/ to /Library/Extensions/
5. make permission repair with Kext Utility and Onyx (both)
6. connect mc 808 to usb, switch to midi mode and restart your system
7. after restart check if .kext is loaded (with kextstat command in terminal). then check audio-midi app for correct midi connection of mc 808
---
now you can use mc 808 with your DAWs with simple usb-midi connection. mc 808 should start before os loaded !
---
8. Install Crossover or another Wine app. Make an "windows xp" bootle.
9. Download mc 808 editor for Windows. Install to your bottle from step 8.
10. If everything all right, start editor (don't put attention for errors) and go to setup midi.
11. In some cases in need for faster switch usb on roland to the STORAGE mode and the to the MIDI mode immediately.
12. Now you can try read data from mc 808
I check it with 10.11.4 and 10.11.3 on macbook pro 2014. I didn't see for any problems on another systems.
Please, try this and write about your success.
Thank you.
