Make the Windows 7 driver working on Windows 10
Posted: 15:57, 2 July 2016
Hi there
I want to help to let the MC-808 work in Windows 10 environment as MIDI device (also to work with the editor). It is nearly the same work as with Windows 8 or 8.1.
1. Download the Windows 7 32 and 64 bit driver: http://www.roland.com/support/article/? ... s&p=MC-808
2. Extract the compressed file
3. Open the extracted folder and go to the folder Files\64bit\Files\ or Files\32bit\Files\. It depends on the OS Bit edition you have.
4. Open the File RDIF1064.INF
5. Replace now the following part:
For the file in folder "Files\64bit\Files\":
[Manufacturer]
%MfgName%=Roland,NTamd64.6.1,NTamd64.6.2
;[ControlFlags]
;ExcludeFromSelect=*
[Roland]
;; WindowsVista 64 or Windows XP 64
;; not supported
[Roland.NTamd64.6.1]
;; Windows7
%RDID0064DeviceDesc%=RDID0064Install, USB\VID_0582&PID_00A9 ; MC-808
[Roland.NTamd64.6.2]
;; not supported
REPLACE WITH
[Manufacturer]
%MfgName%=Roland,NTamd64.6.1,NTamd64.6.2,NTamd64.10.0
;[ControlFlags]
;ExcludeFromSelect=*
[Roland]
;; WindowsVista 64 or Windows XP 64
;; not supported
[Roland.NTamd64.6.1]
;; Windows7
%RDID0064DeviceDesc%=RDID0064Install, USB\VID_0582&PID_00A9 ; MC-808
[Roland.NTamd64.6.2]
;; Windows8
%RDID0064DeviceDesc%=RDID0064Install, USB\VID_0582&PID_00A9 ; MC-808
[Roland.NTamd64.10.0]
;; Windows10
%RDID0064DeviceDesc%=RDID0064Install, USB\VID_0582&PID_00A9 ; MC-808

%RDID0064DeviceDesc%=RDID0064Install, USB\VID_0582&PID_00A9 ; MC-808

[Roland.NTx86.10.0]
;; Windows10
%RDID0064DeviceDesc%=RDID0064Install, USB\VID_0582&PID_00A9 ; MC-808
