Hi,
I'm sorry I doon't have time to read through all of the posts, so I will go ahead and just ask. If the answer already exists then just advise me to the link please. So yes the question is: I want to go with a laptop/soft-synth setup. I need a good usb audio interface (usb 2.0 I guess is better) with ASIO 2.0 support. Which one is the best? (ua-25, fast trak pro, e-mu 0404 usb, I don't know about other gears) And moreover I would like to have another question. I don't fully understand the ASIO feature. I mean I tried ASIO4All free driver and it already did wonders. If I have ASIO 2.0 hardware support, do I get also a software driver ? And also do they get into the 1-10 ms latency range ?
thank you and respekt
Which USb Audio ?
Re: Which USb Audio ?
If you are using more than one or two tracks simultaneously from your laptop you might want to consider FireWire over USB for speed/latency issues.
Re: Which USb Audio ?
Hi lejoix,
i bought a pcmcia interface for my notebook from
creative the zs audio notebook. I am quite satisfied
with latency and sound quality (for home use). I
bought it because it had the smallest form factor
and pcmcia is the fastest option (over usb2.0 and
firewire) with the smallest impact on the cpu.
With the creative asio drivers i get latencies <= 5ms.
It was with ~80 EUR quite cheap.
Ciao, Dirk.
