Hello!
This discussion started a little bit in the Rob Papen thread, but we could discuss and compare and share thoughts about all available 3 osc + mod matrix soft synths on the market and why not also mention hardware synths. We could also include the price in the comparison and have freeware products included also.
We had NI Massive (189€), Rob Papen Predator (149€) and Logic ES2 synth (Included in Logic Express package 199€) mentioned so far..
So let's go!

3OSC Softsynth comparison discussion
Re: 3OSC Softsynth comparison discussion
I vote for NI MASSIVE for these reasons:
- Really charismatic and original sound, yet predictable and precise results
- 3x oscillators, 2x filters, 2x polyphonic inserts, 4x envelopes, 4x modulators, 2x effects
- Oscillators can do VA and wavetables
- Inserts feature unusual stuff like waveshaper, lo-fi, and frequency shifter
- Superbly implemented drag-and-drop modulation (puts any control matrix to shame)
- Semi-modular signal path
- Probably the best user interface I ever used, simple yet very flexible
And listen to it
