Touchscreen iMac may be on the way
Re: Touchscreen iMac may be on the way
The new Mac OS 10.7 Lion adds some of the iPad interface to the Mac.
This doesn't guarantee Apple will produce a touchscreen iMac, but it sure suggests that it is likely.

Re: Touchscreen iMac may be on the way
well if anyone watched the keynote Steve Jobs made a point in saying that a vertical touch screen just isn't practical, so if there really is a new touch screen iMac coming out then i'm very interested in seeing their design for it
Re: Touchscreen iMac may be on the way
nickoli, please check the article that I linked above - it shows a design of a computer that can be turned into horizontal position, much like a tablet on a stand. Perhaps in this situation it will be almost as convenient to use touch as on the iPad.

well if that is going to be the new iMac then i want one

The question though, is that OS X has not been designed for touch, but for mouse control. This means they will have to put a lot from iOS to make it more usable with touch, like bigger UI elements, but I think in Lion we will see a lot of that.
